We’re going to talk about flat roofs this time. We use modified bitumen roof. Modified Bitumen in layman’s term is basically asphalt with rubber in it. This stuff is the bomb. In the roof job that we’re doing in the video, there is a deck and a pergola on top of the flat roof. We took all of that down and we put a new flooring underneath because the roof’s been leaking in the apartment underneath it. So we got to make sure we got it leak proof. The owners of the investment company used Masterpiece Roofing & Painting to do all this because we take care of business the way it’s supposed to be. And we make sure that everything is done perfectly. So what we got on a modified bitumen roof are two layers. We got a base cap which sticks to the plywood decking on the bottom. And then we got a top sheet which is a peel and stick. If you look at the video you will see that they’re pulling the adhesive off of the top sheet and stick it to the bottom cap. And when that’s done the deck and the pergola will be put back on. So that’s how we do a low slope roof to make it sealed and leak proof.
Now in this same roof job, let’s also talk about tile roofing. There’s two types of tiles. You have the clay tile and the cement tile. The clay tile as you can see in the video is commonly seen in a lot of roofs in the southwest like California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. So on this house we were able to find a good match for this kind of tile to put on the slow slope roof. So after we’re done putting on the modified bitumen low slope material to seal it all up, we border it with all of these nice tiles so we can set this off and put the deck back on. So there you have it. That’s how we do a low slope roof. So whenever you need something whether it be a low slope product or a steep slope, pick up the phone and give us a call and we will come out there and make your house a masterpiece.
